NASA Astronaut Visits CIRCOR Aerospace, Inc.

Corona, California, May 6, 2008: ;CIRCOR Aerospace, Inc. (CAI) hosted representatives from Hamilton Sundstrand Space Systems and Lieutenant Commander Christopher Cassidy from the National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA). Lt. Cmd. Cassidy is a mission specialist scheduled for the April 2009 STS - 127 Space Shuttle mission in support of the International Space Station completion.
Hamilton Sundstrand and NASA recognized the long history of support from CIRCOR and the Circle Seal line of precision controls for critical space applications. The team emphasized the importance of process controls in the manufacturing environment, to ensure mission safety and successful execution of the upcoming mission. CIRCOR, though the Fluid Controls Systems - Circle Seal-branded products, has supported the U.S. Space program since the 1950s. A CIRCOR Aerospace safety critical, pressure relief valve is employed in the battery pack of the Hamilton Sundstrand spacesuit that Lt. Commander Cassidy will wear during his spacewalks in 2009.
